I've been looking for lots of reference images of classic chopper models and also the more customised ones.. Orange County Choppers anyone? The classic references will help me to see what parts are found on a typical motorbike, important point to start from so that I can create a reasonably accurate model... and not use the excuse that its a high tech motor with its parts hidden under the bike's shell. Too easy right?
Here are a few of the classic choppers I found. Already from these I can see how each model differs from each other.
A bit like spot the difference, I found that the main changing parts were the style of the: chassis, wheels, tank, handlebars, exhaust pipes, seat, wheel guards and then of course the paintwork. With this in mind I really can go to town on my own design... but remember not to drift too far from the motorbike basics.
Next stop... seeing what amazing customised choppers are out there and where they've taken their inspiration from for the styling.
